I have a USB external hard drive "E" that I use for backup with the
Dantz Retrospect software.

On occasion I receive the following error message:
"E:\$Mfy. Windows was unable to save all the data for the file
E;\$Mft. The data has been lost. This error may be caused by a
failure of your computer hardware or network connection. Please try
to save this file elsewhere."

Checking in Win Explorer, the E drive is shown as being present.

Help$!

I'm sorry, but you should then email or call Dantz tech support. There
is a slight chance someone reading this post might use that application
and know your answer (and I'm sorry but I don't since I don't use that
program), but it is a *slight* chance. Since the issue is with a
third-party program, contact them for help.
