Unable to view USB Memory Stick

I purchased a 1gb USB 2.0 Memory Stick. I attached it to my PC at work and
transferred some files onto it successfully (Windows NT).

When I attached it to my Laptop (Windows XP SP1) a message appeared saying
that a new USB drive had been found, but when I go into my computer there is
no sign of it or the files. When I go to 'Add/Delete new hardware' a message
appears saying that it cannot do anything as new hardware is already being
added. This scenario just continues, this process just seems to hang. Can
anyone advise please?

Are you sure its not there and conflicting a drive letter with something
else. have a look in computer mgt and if its there change the drive letter.

'My Computer' only shows 2 external Drives plus the CD/DVD drive.
I will have a look in Computer Management. Thanks.
