Unable to use touch pad on Toshiba 5100

I have recently reformatted my C Drive and now I find
that the touch pad does not work. I also have an error
that pop ups when I close the lap top lid to put the
laptop into standby. I receive a note stating that the
101/102 keyboard/ PS 2 mouse can not allow the sytem to
enter the stand by mode . You may have to up grade the
driver.
I have deleted and tried to upgrade the driver to no
success. Would any one have any ideas as to how to
correct this problem??

For the popup error, you need the Power Utilities setup from the Toshiba
website..

For the touchpad error you need the correct mouse/touchpad drivers from the
Toshiba website.
