Unable to use Automovie

I am new to movie maker. I am trying to make a movie using jpeg pictures
from my digital camera. I can make a story board and timeline with narration
but I am unable to add background music. I can have one audio type in the
timeline but not both at the same time. Tried using automovie maker in the
tools section but keep getting an error message that says it can't find the
collection or that the storyboard is to short. (min. 30 sec.) I have 8
pictures spread out over 1 min. in length. Any suggestions or am I using the
wrong program for this type of work???

Thanks

Hi Steve,
I'm going to first explain AutoMovie. And then I'll
explain how to get multiple audio tracks (this involves
creating two movies).

AutoMovie is designed to analyze your video clips and keep
the best segments and arrange them on the Timeline for
you. Still images can be used with video clips or by
themselves (NOTE: The default time of an image when added
to the Timeline or Storyboard is 5 seconds, so with the
default time at least 6 images must be selected).

To use AutoMovie, it is recommended that you start with a
new project (although you can choose to already have
content on the Timeline or Storyboard).
1) Select the clips you wish to include from the
collection. You may choose video, still image, or audio
clips in the same selection if you so choose.
2) Choose AutoMovie from the Tools menu
3) Select the Style preferred
4) Choose a title (this is optional)
5) Select the audio. You will be asked to browse for the
desired clip, unless you selected one in your clips
selection from step #1. If you selected more than one in
step #1 then you must choose, otherwise the first listed
will be chosen by default. (You may only choose one audio
clip and it must exceed 30 seconds).
6) Choose done.

To get Multiple Audio tracks requires a little work. It
sounds like you are trying to Narrate a slide show and
than have an audio track in the background. To do this:
1) First create your AutoMovie using your image files and
your audio file with the steps above.
2) After the AutoMovie publish out your movie at the
desired profile (choose the same (or higher) profile you
will be using for your final output. Remember the name and
location of the movie you have just created.
3) Import the movie you have just created, and place it on
the Timeline.
4) Add your Narration to the timeline and publish it out.

Hopefully this will achieve the desired result.

Thanks,
Dave
