Unable to upgrade

I have tried several times to upgrade Windows XP to Vista but it hangs at
"Completing Upgrade" At this point I have to do a cold boot and the system
is rolled back. I have even tried to upgrade a fresh install of XP and can
not get any further. Any help will be appreciated.

I have the same problem. program hangs at 'completing upgrade" and get
"drive no ready for use " error
