Unable to update windows - Genuine Product Key Error

G

Guest

Purchased from our local "Office Depot" a Gateway 829160698687 Comp, Rav,
A820N computer and installed Windows XP (purchased with computer) the product
key (RFFBY-VVRWD-4VVP3-RJH4Q-PDPCY)

I have not been able to receive microsoft or windows updates because it
keeps giving me the message that my windows software is not genuine. I have
at the website followed all steps to determine whether my software is genuine
and still the same message.

I have the product key # located on the back of my computer
(H938H-FYGRQ-XHDFF-3KDJ4 6FTKW) I need to know what I need to do next? I have
the receipt and cancelled check for my purchase.

Your help would be greatly appreciated.

Return the computer to Office Depot and ask for one with a legitimate copy
of Windows XP.

Never repeat never post your actual Product Key to a public newsgroup
or disclose it to anyone else via email.

The product key sticker affixed to your computer is for the copy of
Windows XP that was preinstalled on the computer by Gateway.

I do not understand why you also needed, or thought you needed, to
purchase an additional copy of Windows XP for this computer.

Or is it Office XP rather than Windows XP that you purchased
separately?

I think you need to contact Gateway's Technical Support and seek their
assistance in sorting out this matter.

Good luck

The local pirates thank you for 2 working keys.
NEVER post keys publicly!!
You need to contact Gateway to resolve the issue with the OEM key.
