Unable to update personal information in Active Directory Address Book

Going through search people under the start menu users and
administrators are able to view the properties in active
directory but are unable to update their personal
information. On the machines that are working users and
administrators are able to update infomation such as phone
number and address. The information is being pulled from
Active directory but are grayed out. There is one
noticeable difference in the properties of the working
machine and the non-working machines. The working
machines have only five tabs on the properties sheet
(General, Address, Business, Netmeeting, Digital ID's).
The non-working machines have eight tabs on the properties
sheet(Summary, Name, Home, Business, Personal, Other,
Netmeeting, Digital ID's). Has anyone else seen this
problem?
