unable to update a linked excel spreadsheet

I have linked Excel spreadsheet that one user cannot update from Access. He
can open it and make changes in excel just fine and other users have no
trouble with it. The location reference is URL ( though I even tried
attaching it directly from this machine with no change).

Could it be a version problem, or a permissions problem? User just got new
computer.

Hi Bill,

The new computer probably has a recent update that disabled the ability to
edit data in a linked Excel spreadsheet:

I suspect that as others get the latest service packs installed, they too
will find that they can no longer edit a linked Excel file. Here is a link
