Unable to Uninstall

If I want to uninstall a program using the Control Panel>Programs and
Features and highlight the program and then click on uninstall nothing
happens. This has started to happen all the time. The only way I can
uninstall the program is to run the original installation program. Any ideas
why this is happening?

Vista Ultimate RC1
AMD64 3000+

If the program did not register an entry in Control Panel > Add/Remove
Programs equivalent in Vista, the only means is to use the original setup
program (or uninstall if present) to remove the application.

Did you get a chance to test this out on Windows Vista RTM?

The programs I am talking about must be registered because they appear in the
installed program listing. I click on them and select the unistall button
but nothing happens. This also applies if I right click on the program and
select uninstall. It could be a while before I upgrade to the RTM version

If it isn't too personal, what specific programs?

Try running "sfc /scannow" from an elevated command prompt. If that doesn't
work you may need to re-register one or more dll's.

I am set up with an administrator account but cannot run the sfc application
in this account. I can run the application if I log in to the Administrator
account. Any ideas as to why? I will run the application in the
administrator account and post the results if it does not matter which
account you are using.
