Hi, i'm unable to type in Russian using IE6 for XP. It's strange because I can type in Russian in all other programs, as well as the Internet explorer address bar, but not within Internet Explorer. I've checked the encoding of the web page, etc. All seems fine. I've read that I'll be unable to customize IE to download pan european language support. Is there any way to do this?

hi thanks Carey,
i tried ukrainian but that doesn't work either. (works in word, outlook express, but types gibberish in IE
To demonstrate, this is how russian types in this box: DK20>;46DK207IH9FC>:BL1
I think that for some reason on this computer the pan european language support didn'tdownload with IE6. Since it's not customizable in Windows XP, i'm not sure how to (or if i can) download that support separatealy.
Or it may be a completely different issue.

It _is_ a completely different issue :)

Windows XP has everything that is needed for Cyrillic support, no
"IE language pack" downloads are needed.

Your problem is very well known on Russian forums -
it's some bad plug-in that does that - please see my page
about that:
