Spam in Russian- how to block it?

B

Benny

Using Outlook 2003. I've been getting a lot of spam lately in Russian
script. I already have the encoding for Cyrillic blocked, but often there is
no text in the message - just in the header. The messages then have a
pictorial ad attached.
I can't block the "ru' domain, as I get emails sometimes from a friend in
Moscow who uses an "ru" address.
Is there any better option than the "Mark as spam" or the delete key to deal
with this?

Mark as spam is useless. Names on the safe list are supposed to skip
filtering, so you should be able to block the RU domain and still get mail
from your friend, as long as he doesn't change his address.

Otherwise, delete them, or if your friend doesn't use Russian characters in
his messages to you, make a rule with some of the common characters in it
and delete them using a rule. You can add an exception to the rule for your
friends address.
