On my dell 4300/win xp pro, start, control panel, network
conections, select AOL and right click, select
properties. The properties window does not open. These
same operations open the network properties window and
allow me to turn the firewall on, on my dell inspirion
8200 notebook xp home. I think I am logged on as
admimistrator? How can i tell? I'm fairly sure both
systems are fat32? Is aol 8.0 the problem? Thanks

The ICF will NOT work with AOL, for which you can thank AOL, which
intentionally refused and continues to refuse to abide by the Internet
standards.

Go find a free firewall or pay for one, one that is known to work with AOL.

Do NOT hesitate, you NEED a firewall NOW.

(I'm not going to engage in the trival disputes as to which firewall is
"best.")

But the i'm able to turn on the xpHome ICF on my
notebook. I just cant get to the properties window on my
xpPro desktop? Thanks

aol says that's not true. That aol dialup 8.0 does not
interfere with ms xp pro icf.
