Hi ,

I have a dual boot up PC with Win 2000 & Win 98. I tried installing the
audio device driver for the sound card in my PC. During which time, the
system crashed
and now when I try to restart the PC it comes up with a blue screen with a
stop error (with a message unable to install the driver) and just stops at
that point. I
tried to start using the safe mode option , and it still doesn't work. I am
able to start the computer using win 98. Can somebody please help me out ?
Any help is highly appreciated.

Thanks,
Hari

Try these:

- Boot in "Safe Mode" (press F8 during the boot stage)
- Boot into "Last known good configuration.
- If your Stop error message lists the name of the driver then
you should rename that driver file. This will probably get
you going again.

Hi Pegasus,

Thanks for your prompt reply . I tried all the options you mentioned and it
still doesn't work .Let me know what else could I try.

Thanks,
Hari

The BIOS has nothing to do with Win2000 - it is part of your
motherboard. On most PCs you press Del during the boot
phase to get into the BIOS. Read your motherboard manual!
