Unable to start Task Scheduler service

D

David

I'm using fully patched W2K and can't start the Task Scheduler Service.
Whenever I try it, I get the message "Could not start the Task Scheduler
service on Local Computer. Error 87: the parameter is incorrect." The
service is set to Automatic start with "Log on as Local System account"
checked and "Allow service to interact with desktop" checked too. The RPC
dependency has also been started.

All my automated backup routines depend on the Task Scheduler working, and
I'm at a loss how to fix this. Can anyone please help?
