unable to "share" database

I have an aceess 2000 database being viewed in Access 2003 (can't change DB
to 2003 as not all users have 2003). When the database is opened by one user
(2003 Version) then other user (also 2003) can open the DB but can't make any
additions or changes to the database.

It is set up as a shared with the parameter set to "open databases with
record level locking" but default record locking is set to "no". Both
individuals might have the same form open but not viewing the same record. I
have other files in use in the office designed the same way and they can all
view, edit and add records. I can't figure out what is different with this
file.

Does anyone have any idea where I should start to find my problem? This is a
real problem as more than one individual needs to access the records.

Thanks

My guess is that the permissions of the network share with the
back-end database is different than that of the shares for the other
apps.
You *did* split the app in front-end and back-end, right?

Actually no I didn't separate in front-end,back-end. It is rather a small
database and I didn't want to bother. Will that make a difference?
