Unable to Send to Recipient (As Attachment)

Guest

I am using Outlook 2003 and since performing the update to SP3 I get the
following message when I attempt to "Send to Recipient (As Attachment)" from
an Office 2000 application (Word & Excel):

The operation failed due to network or other communication problems. Check
your connections and try again.

I tried the Detect and Repair in Outlook without any success. Any suggestions?

Is Outlook set as you default email client?
I'd try creating anew email and attaching the file manually for now.

Only one version of Outlook can be installed within an instance of
Windows. You mention updating OL2003 but say you are trying to use
OL2000. You also mention Word and Excel. The version of Outlook MUST
match the version of Word and Excel for the integration to work.

The post doesn't actually say that. It says that Outlook 2003 is being used
along with other Office 2000 applications such as Word 2000 and Excel 2000.
No mention is made about Outlook 2000. MAPI integration used in Send To
really should work in this case and has worked for the user before.

The update to SP3, however, has probably caused ht problem due to that mixed
install and it wasn't possibly tested since the users scenario is not
common.

Perhaps but since Outlook 2000 is included in the mentioned Office
2000 then the OP may be trying to use more than one version of Outlook
on the same host.

Still requires that Outlook and Word or Outlook and Excel must be the
same version for integration to work properly. Even if only one
version of Outlook were installed - Outlook 2003 - it doesn't match
the Office 2000 components (Word or Excel).

MAPI send *should not* require the same version. It should work from all
applications that support "Send To" which obviously includes non Office
products.

Was this problem ever solved? If yes, what did you do to fix it. I have the
same problem. I am using Outlook 2002, SP3 and Excel 2002, SP3.
