Unable to save shortcut to desktop

B

Bree

Hi anyone:

When I right click on a page that I want to save to my
desktop in Windows Explorer as a shortcut; the shortcut
is created on my desktop, but when I try to double click
it all that comes up is my printer Icon to print the
shortcut instead of going to that website.

Any suggestions???

THanks

Bree

Hi Bree,

Open Registry Editor (Regedit.exe) and navigate to:

HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\InternetShortcut

Export this key using the File > Export option and post the contents here.

Hi Ramesh
Sorry I don't quite understand the last part about
exporting, when I open the export file where do I export
to and what do I call it?

Thanks again

Bree
