Unable to save follow up info

I have a user who is using Outlook 2007 & when he try's to set a custom
follow up flag on his emails he gets a message that says:
"The reminder for "name-of-email" will not appear because the item is in a
folder that doesn't support reminders. Is this okay?"

The emails in question reside in his pst folder. Is there a way to make this
work?

Follow-up reminders work only for the default folders.
