Unable to remove the old Windows installer cleanup utility after upgrading ME

From within add/remove programs I am trying to uninstall
the former Windows ME installer cleanup utility from the
programs list, but removal fails, returning the error
message:

The Path 'C:\WINDOWS\TEMP\IXP000.TMP\msicu.msi' cannot be
found.

How do I get this older version of the Windows Cleanup
Utility out of my add\remove programs list????

Anyone encountered this issue???
 
Install the newer one from the office reskit and then use it to clean up the
old cleaner
