"Unable to read the Log File Folder" error

In the Application Event log on my XP Pro system I have lots of
entries which warn that XP can not read the Log File Folder "value"
(???) of the System Overview log.

I seem to have about one of these for every hour or so that the PC is
in use.

How can I correct whatever is causing these messages?

Hello Will, thanks for replying. Unfortunately there is nothing at
that link which helps me to understand or solve my problem.

Does anyone have any other ideas?

i've read it's a problem in registry, i still dont find the solution
