Unable to read file

I have a Win98 / Excel 97 PC that can create Excel files
on our Windows 2003 file server. However, when I save &
close the file, then try to open it again, I get
an "Unable to read file." error message. No one can open
the file from other PC's either. I can create & modify
files fine locally and on other 2003 servers. However,
any file I create on this 1 server becomes corrupted some
how. I've already done an uninstall/reinstall of Office
97SR2. Any other ideas?

I am also experiencing the same error, however we are
using Office XP and have just installed SP3 for Office and
SP2 for WinXP.
