Unable to reach secured websites

What would cause me to suddenly not be able to access
secured websites? For example, a credit union or
brokerage logon page? The homepages display fine, but
starting today I cannot go into such a site's secure
area. Instead I get the black & white screen saying the
web page is currently unavailable. I suspect something's
gotten hosed in my IE security settings but can't find
anything wrong. This all started when I installed the
blaster fix which I've since backed out, but still cannot
access my accounts. Big problem, please, any suggestions.

Hi Charlie,

This MSKB article should help you resolve the problem:

Troubleshoot Situations Where You Cannot Complete MSN Sign-up pr Connect to
SSL Secured (128-Bit) Web Sites by Using Internet Explorer in Windows XP
http://support.microsoft.com/default.aspx?scid=kb;en-us;813444

In most cases, recreating user profile has solved the problem.
