unable to ping my own ip address- pl. help

win xp pro system cannot ping to its own ip address.
pinging to 127.0.0.1 and to localhost works fine.
any suggestions. well of course i have network issues
with this computer as it is not able to see anyone else
nor can others see this one.

Hi,

have you tried installing another network card? It sounds like you may have
a bad NIC.
