I just installed office 2003 with a typical install on and xp pr
machine. I had a previous version of office that I uninstalled befor
hand. the first time I opened outlook, I got "Your Microsoft Exchang
Server is unavailable" with Retry, Work Offline or Cancel options.
hit "Work Offline" and get the message "Unable to open your defaul
e-mail folders. Your profile is not configured." I'm not running a
exchange server and there was no option to set up a profile at firs
run.. I've uninstalled and tried again but with the same results. an
help would be appreciated..

Bonjour,

Use Control Panel and open Mail to either remove that account or start over
with a new profile.

Raymond,

Thank you so much for your help.. A lightbulb went off as soon as I
read that.. It's frustrating when you can't remember something simple
like that.. On the other hand it would be nice if it hadn't defaulted
to look for an Exchange Server..

Thanks again,

Adam
