Unable to open word doc from Webfolder

Hi!

We have encountered a problem when trying to open word-documents from a
webfolder.
If we open the document when linked from a web page there is no problem.

The problem generates the following message in word:

Cant find the file...
(C:\Documents and settings\Username\Local)
[OK]

Wrong document name or path...
(Settings\Temporary)
[OK]

Cant find the file...
(Internet)
[OK]

Wrong document name or path...
(Files\Content.MSO\f4bc3.doc)
[OK]

The problem is the path to Temporary Internet Files.
If I change the path to H:\Temp\Temporary Internet Files (for the current
profile) the .doc can be opened.

If the path to the folder "Temporary Internet Files" contains any blanks
(spaces) the problem occurs! (only for word-documents opened from a
webfolder though)

Does anyone know what this might be related to? Could there be some kind
of policy setting that prevents word from reading document paths with
blanks in the folder names? Bug fix, regvalue, policy setting etc?

Hi Marcus,

I have noticed you post the same question for several times. I understand
the inconvenience you have encountered, however, it would be easier for us
to troubleshoot this issue if we get more information. In addition, let us
discuss this issue in the same thread in order to keep the thread clean.

This issue could be either related to the Word or IE. In order to isolate
this issue, please gather the following information:

1. What is the webfolder you are using, is it developed by third-party for
LAN use purpose or it is a Internet website? If it is an Internet website,
please provide the link to reproduce this issue.

2. What is the result if you logon on as a new user with administrative
privilege?

3. Does this issue only occur on one computer or all clients?

As far as I know, I have not found the GPO related to the Word though I am
not a Word expert.

As you have mentioned, this issue disappears if you change the temporarily
folder to H:\, one possibility is the IE temporarily folder. If this is the
case, this issue should not occur in a new user profile and you can use the
following steps to clear IE:
