unable to open report in Access with errors

I just started a new position in Feb. and am using a database that a previous
employee created. We use it to keep stats all month long, then compile
multiple reports at month's end. Today in the long process of doing
month-end stats, one of the final reports would not open. It gave me the
following error msg:

"5 errors occurred when you loaded the form or report.

You loaded a form or report that has controls or properties that Microsoft
doesn't recognize and will ignore."

I am unable to open this report in any format to see what the problem may be
or even print it. Anyone have any idea how to help?

In addition:

1. This report was not used or opened since last month's end-of-month
stats.
2. Since trying to open this report this morning, I have experienced a lot
of "freezing" both the ACCESS database as well as other programs open on my
desktop.

Any ideas?
