I just installed Outlook 2002. Setup email accounts. Hotmail shows however,
when I click to open/expand Outlook today I get this message and nothing
shows, no calendar, etc...

Unable to expand the folder. The set of folders could not be opened. Could
not open the item. Try again.

I am running Microsoft Windows XP Home Edition Service Pack 2 on a Compaq
AMD Laptop.

I set up hotmail and our service provider is valornet. So there is a hotmail
email account and a valornet account.

Did you move your Personal Folder (PST) file? You probably had to setup one
when you started Outlook.

When I installed and started for the first time it automatically pulled
hotmail and valornet. It asked for the passwords only, it was very strange.
There is a separate personal folder showing up. In the 'folder list' within
outlook it shows Hotmail, Personal Folders, and Outlook Today. I cannot
open/expand Outlook today. The program won't allow me to click send/receive
to check for mail either. It tells me 'could not open the item try again.'

Hmmm... In the Mail applet of the Control Panel, click the Email accounts
button, then select View/Change email accounts and click Next.

In the Email accounts dialog see if you can change the "Deliver new email to
the following location" dropdown.

I got it fixed.... Before your reply, sorry. I did detect/repair and it
took me through the entire setup process again and now it is working
perfectly. I'm not sure what happened.... One for the mind to ponder I
guess. Thanks for your help...
