Outlook Today page won't load

Hello, I have 2 questions about Outlook 2002 problems.

- On one client, the outlook today page will not load. When the user
opens outlook, the outlook today page should appear by default, but the
screen says "action cancelled". I went to the outlook today properties
and saw on the homepage tab that the link for outlook today is:

res://C:\Program%20Files\Microsoft%20Office\Office10\1033\OUTLWVW.DLL/outlook.htm

so I tried a detect and repair, I tried to reset the default settings,
reset usage data, I tired replacing the outlwvw.dll file from a computer
that loads the outlook today page correctly, tried emptying the IE cache
(it seems that outlook integrates with IE to some extent), and none of
this has fixed the problem.

I noticed that 'outlook:today' in the address bar in outlook gives
either the 'action cancelled' or the 'Page could not load' message, but
if I copy and paste the full address above, then I get an active x
warning, and then it loads with a script error, but not showing all of
the info like tasks or calendar appts. This gives me a hunch it maybe
an IE zone permission issue, but I've tried chaning some of those
settings, and have had no0 luck so far. I've also googles and not found
much that way either, any suggestions here please?

- I have another user that is on a slow network connection in a remote
office, and sometimes get this message when trying to open his email,
"Can't open this item. You do not have sufficient permission to perform
this operation on this object. See the folder contact or your system
administrator." The problem is that the "operation to be performed on
this object" is opening his own email in his own inbox. Any suggestions
for this issue would be welcomed as well.

Thanks.

I had this happen once and I added "about:internet" to my Local Intranet
network zone to correct it.

Thanks for the reply Brian! Unfortunately I tried this and it did not
fix my problem.

Any other suggestions?

Thanks for the reply Brian! Unfortunately I tried this and it did not fix
my problem.

Only one: reset all your network zones to their default security levels. If
that doesn't work, I'm stumped.
