I have recently upgraded from Windows ME/Explorer 5.5 to Windows XP/Explorer 6. All the latest upgrades and patches have been installed. I am also running McAfee Viruscan and Personal Firewall - fully updated

I am experiencing the following problems

Search does not work from the Start Men
Buttons running Java Scripts are giving the following error – Javascript error, https://……… , no such interface supporte
I am unable to use links that open pages in a new window or by right clicking and selecting open in a new window

I have reviewed various newsgroups and followed the instructions where appropriate from Microsoft Knowledgebase 329134, 281679, 827667, 316593, 274696 – all to no avail. Also I am unable to restore to an earlier version (before all the updates) because my machine comes up with incomplete restore

I have my own website and have tested this – offline I can use open in a new window – online I can’t. Java scripts also work offline

Please can someone help before I throw the whole thing out of the window

Regard

Disable Script Debugging should stop the Java errors

Check this key/value in the registry:

User Key:
[HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\InternetExplorer\Main
]
Name: 'AllowWindowReuse'
Type: REG_DWORD (DWORD Value)
Value: (0 = New Window, 1 = Existing Window)

Did you ever get this resolved? I'm having the same problem. I've
reregistered the indicated DLL's, I've deleted the corrupted registry
value, I've added the missing registry keys, and I've added the
required accounts in the DCOMCNFG tool, all to no avail. I still
can't print and the Print, Print Preview, and Find dialogs won't come
up.
