When attempting to open Microsoft Outlook, I am getting the message as follows:

Failed to register a VB Script DLL, Reinstall or run Regsvr32.exe
Vbscript, dll to self register. The form catch file C:\Documents ans
Settings\Compaq_Owner\LocalSettings\ApplicationData\Microsoft\FORMS\FRMCACHE.DAT' is not valid.

This problem as only occured since doing a parcial reinstall, up to that
point was working fine, I have been into the knowledge database at microsoft,
tried one or two of their fixs, but so far have not managed to fix the
problem.

HELP!!!!!!!!!!

And what exactly were those "one or two fixes"? I would have suggested that
you do what the error tells you to do, but it may be one of those fixes you
already tried and I certainly don't want to suggest something you've already
tried. I also don't see anywhere you named your Outlook version.

Delete the .dat file and try to open Outlook again. If you receive the same
error, note the actual filepath to the .dll that has to be registered and
follow the instructions below.

To register a file, click on Start, scroll to run, type in cmd and hit
enter. The command prompt window will open. Change the directory to be in the
same file folder that the unregistered .dll is located. Then type:

"regsvr32 c:\windows\System32\comctl32.ocx" w/o quotes, making sure that the
filepath and filenames are correct for the file on your PC that YOU have to
register. The sample I gave you is just a sample, including the filepath and
filename. You must actually type the correct location and filename for your
system that needs to be registered.

Kathleen thanks for your info, however, I am not exactly sure, how to perform
the task of registering this file, could you please give me more exact
detail, and if possible tell me exactly what to perform, from the information
I posted.

Once again thanks for assistants so far

I cannot provide more exact instructions since you haven't provided exact
error messages or other information, as Brian had mentioned previously.
As I mentioned in my last message, you have to note the exact filepath of
the .dll that needs to be registered. Then you simply type the command I gave
you, inserting the filepath and filename of the .dll that your error message
states is not registered.

Kathleen,

Glad to let you know, the first option that you advised, that is to delete
the .DAT file as cured the problem.
Once again thanks for your help
