Unable to open file

We are suddenly experiencing a number of Excel files that
cannot be opened. Excelfix has been used to repaiir the
files. Is this a problem associated with running a mixed
Office 2000 and Office 2002 environment. Like I said this
is a new event on the network and has us baffled as to why
it is suddenly taking place.

we use TrendMicro Officescan for virus protection. I have
read about a similiar problem with Norton.

I use Windows XP professional and Office XP. Today I
could not open several Excel files. A message tells me
that "Excel can not access files. The document may be
read-only or encrypted". I went over this problem with
KEEN and used scan disk to try to solve it to no avail.
KEEN tells me that the file is corrupted and impossible
to retrieve. Anybody has found a solution?
