Unable to open file

Currently I am facing a little problem with Excel. I am
trying to open my excel file by double-clicking from the
Windows Explorer window. I notice that the Excel
application will be launch but with a blank screen, it
seems like hang. So I close the Excel application that
auto-launch and open it manually through the Start >
Programs. After launching the Excel application manually,
and open the file from Excel Application itself, I am able
to launch my excel file. I am wondering what could be the
caused of this problem, do I need to update any patches or
any other thing.
Currently I am using Office 2002 on Windows 2000
Professional. My PC spec. is Pentium IV 1.6GHz with 128MB
SDRAM. Please advise.

Try these steps--

tools > options > general and uncheck ignore other applications

or

start > run: excel /unregserver
start > run: excel /regserver

You found the solution to my problem.
Imagine that I have tried modifying registry and
everything else.
