Unable to open Excel Workbook

Hi

While i am trying to open any excel workbook by double clicking the blank
excel workbook open , I need to open it with by going through File->open. can
anybody help how to resolve the problem

Choose Tools/Options/General from the Excel menu and make sure the
"Ignore other applications" checkbox is unchecked.
