Unable to open an item that was searched for

When using the general search in outlook I am searching another users folder
which I am granted full access to. Sometimes the search works fine and other
times it doesn’t and I get a error message saying â€Cannot open this item†if
I restart outlook I can redo the search and it works fine.

Any idea why this keeps happening and if there is a solution for it.

Sorry to hijack this post....i have a similar problem with Outlook 2003.
Searched fine for a while and then unable to open item\object after searching
again. Clearing forms cache seems to work but happens so often.

Sorry I am using Outlook Professional Edition 2003(11.8118.8132) SP2
 
I am having the same problem in my outlook mail. I have permission to a
folder and can open items in it. When I do a 'Look for" to narrow down my
results and attempt to access one of the found messages error message "!
Can't open this item".

I utilize MS Outlook 2003.
 
Have the same error append from time to time, when openning searched items (Contact or EMail) from an additional mailbox.
Seems that the version of Exchange (2003 and 2007), version of Outlook (2003 and 2007), and version OS (WinXP and Vista) doesnt matter, and I have seen this on different network domain.

Restarting Outlook fix the problem for a limited time.
