unable to open a blank page on word 2000

Hi, I'm having a problem here, when I open up Microsoft Word 2000, its always
open up a old document that was deleted long time ago, and when I close it
and click on "new blank document" icon on the tool bar, it will reopen the
old document again, I don't know why its doing this, can anyone help?
