Unable to login as any user

I am unable to login as any user. Or rather, when I login
I am immediately logged out. I can login as a user in safe
mode, but not safe mode with network connections. I have
windows xp fully updated as well as norton antivirus fully
updated and it detects nothing. I have unchecked
everything in my startup menu. Any ideas other than
reformatting?

Run Windows XP Repair process that is uncluded on your WinXP CDRom. If there are any damaged sys files, this will correct it.
