I purchased a computer from a now out-of-business company (that I used to work for). I wanted to re-name the computer and use it on a home network/workgroup that I have set up. Therefore, I
a) logged in under my account name (which has admin privileges) and I proceeded to change the computer name from LT-DCampbell to LT-TCampbell
b) I removed the 'Primary DNS Suffix of this Computer'
c) I removed the computer from the domain (using the Administrator ID and password) and I assigned a workgroup instead.
after making these changes, i was told to re-start the computer for the changes to take affect. Unfortunately, I can not login to XP now. I have tried both my ID and password and the Administrator ID and password. the sign in screen only now allows for ID and password. There is no opportunity to input a domain. Have I messed up XP to the point that I need to re-load it from scratch
Thanks for any ideas
