Unable to Install SP2

I have Windows XP Pro. I tried installing SP2 through Windows Update. It
downloads fully, but it won't install. I get an installation failure with
error code 0x80246008. I went and did the suggested solutions to no avail.
Can someone please help?

Is BITS enabled Automatic? Step 7 on this link:
