Is the OP using Outlook Express or Outlook? If Outlook, these references
are useless. If the OP was using Outlook from Microsoft Office, the OP
needs to locate the .pst file and open it in Outlook using
File->Open->Outlook Data File (or Personal folders file, depending on the
version of Outlook).

If you upgraded Outlook 2000 to Outlook 2002, you should not have to recover
anything. A properly performed upgrade would have reused all your old
settings, unless you were upgrading from OL 2000 in Internet Mode Only.
There are known problems in that case.
How are you trying to "recover"? Please describe in detail what you're
doing.
