unable to import backup.pst

I cannot import my backup.pst I get a message saying file access denied, you
do not have permission.

I am the administrator, I dont understnadn the error and need a solution.

And we need information. Importing is never the correct way to transfer
Outlook data. You have provided no information. State what you are doing,
what happens, how you created this backup, and why you are trying to import
it.

I exported all of my mail folder to a .pst file onto a separate drive from a
win xp pro sp2 system. I then upgraded my exisitng PC to a full clean copy of
Vista
Ultimate. I installed office 2003 and got a message saying file access
denied you do not have permission. I tried all I can think even checked the
..pst files properties and right etc. I upgraded the office to offie 2007 same
thing. I never had any issues importing and exporting .pst fiels before.

You should never export or import Outlook data files. You will always lose
data and may corrupt it. Just copy your original data file and open it in
the new installation of Outlook.
