Importing .pst files into Outlook 2007

I have a backup of a .PST file on CD I am trying to import into Outlook
2007. The file on D Drive is coming up with a premissions issue. That is,
from within Outlook, I move thru the import the file, create duplicates if
found, and click import having browsed to the D:\Outlook Keep\Backup.pst
file and I get a message saying I dont have permission to use this file.
It's on MY PC,,I am the administrator, I created the file...

Any help appreciated

Importing is a very poor way to transfer Outlook data. You open the file.
You don't import it. If you cannot, then state how you created the file and
what error messages you receive.

Thank you DL...this worked a treat. SO easy when you know how!

Russ, I had used the Export function from within Outlook, that worked ok, I
got the file all sweet onto a CD but couldnt re-import it. But the process
as described by DL worked.

Rgds n tks for help.

No. You did not have to use export. You simply copy a PST file and open it
in another installation. I never realized you were trying to open a file
while it was still on a CD. That would never work.
