My office uses Outlook XP. I created a pst file of my mail and saved it ot a
USB disc. When I bring it home to use on my PC, my Outlook 2002 says it's an
invalid format. How do I get the mail onto my PC at home??

First of all, do NOT use the Import function - that's the easiest way to
corrupted data.
Copy the pst file to your HDD - do NOT overwrite the existing file. then
remove the Read-Only attribute if that is set. Then in Outlook, go to
File-Open-Outlook Data File and navigate to where you copied the file to. If
that still does not work, make sure that the pst file you copied was not
copied while Outlook was open. if it was, you probably have a corrupted file
and will have to re-copy it.

BTW, Outlook XP and Outlook 2002 are the same version. Also make quite sure
that your Office does not use Outlook 2003 as the pst file will be in a
non-compatible format.

Hi, Gordon. Sorry... my mistake. I was told the version at the office is
XP... well the version at the office is 2003 and I am running 2002 here at
my
home. I tried the fix you suggested and I still get the error message...
this version is incompatable (?sp). Is there a quick fix for me???
Thanks!! Have a great day!!!

Ah. The only way, is to open Outlook at work and create a new pst file.
Choose the Outlook 97-2002 personal folders file option NOT the Office
Outlook personal folders file one. Then copy all your data into it. Close
Outlook and copy THAT pst file, which you will be able to open at home.
