Unable to export contacts - no translator

I use Office XP with Outlook 2002:

I need to export my contacts into a .csv file from OUtlook 2002. When I
started the Export wizard, I get a message that the translator file must
first be installed. I followed instructions in the online knowledge base to
"Add Components", but there is not even an "Export" component to add. (?!)
There is an Import component. I then updated my Office XP from the original
disk, and still no Export component. Why is there no Export translator in my
Outlook? I simply cannot export my contacts, and I don't know where to find
that damn translator that it needed! I've spent 2 hours on the Knowledge
base, with no luck!

If you use the Office Maintenace Wizard, you see no Importers and Exports to
install as Outlook components?
That's what we've all used.

No, but then again, I have not used an "Office Maintenance Wizard". Where
would I find that? I did a quick search of the hard drive before I responded
to this question, plus I checked the Control Panel. I found 50 wizards, but
none for Outlook or Office Components.

I am using Office XP Professional, and Outlook 2002 is part of that. What
am I missing?

When you put in the Office CD, the maintenance Wizard should launch by
default. Or you can launch it from Control Panel > Add/Remove.
What do you see under Outlook for features and utilities that you can add to
your installation?

OK, when I run Add Programs from my Office CD, it brings up a list of MS
Office Components. Under Outlook, it has a plus sign next to Importers and
Exporters; however, when I expand the list, it has ONLY the importer listed
as Import From Other Sources. There is no exporter.

I had pulled this up another before, but didn't go thru the same process you
described below. :)

As I recall, exporters are installed by default. If yours don't work, run
Detect and Repair.
