I am trying to fix some files in my User Account by logging on as the
Administrator so I can get to the files that need to be fixed. (I am trying
to delete a corrupt History Folder in Internet Explorer. This can only be
done by logging on as an Administrator and deleting the History folder for
the other account). When I log on as the Administrator and go into Windows
Explorer, I can see the other two user accounts but the one I need to work on
does not have a + in front of it. When I select it, I get a message saying I
am not authorized to access that folder. I have tried this using another
User Account (that has Admin) and I have tried it in SAFE MODE using The
Adminstrator Account and get the same results. What am I doing wrong. Any
help will be greatly appreciated. Thank you.

You need to distinguish between the two terms "Account" and
"Profile Folder". An account consists of a user name and a password.
A Profile Folder is a folder in "Documents and Settings". It contains
the files and a number of settings that pertain to a given user account.
It often has the same name as the user name.

I assume from your post that you are unable to access a user's
profile folder even when logged on as Administrator. If so then
you need to seize ownership of this folder. Click Start / Help,
then search for "Ownership" to see how it's done.

Thank you Pegasus. I looked at the info. in the help file about taking
"ownership" of a folder and it looks like what I need to do. I'm not sure
why my Profile Folder cannot be accessed but my wife's can. Must have
something to do with the way I installed Windows on this computer.

Anyway, thanks for the help.

Mike
