Unable to download at any site

When I try and download, if I save it, it wont save. If I run it, it wont
run. TIF are cleared, cache is cleared. I just don't understand! I cant ever
downloan an update, I simply cant download or run any programs,
etc......Please Help!

this happens to my school computer. turns out that they have this program
which negates action of downloads.

Try use firefox and myie to download again. It maybe disable the IE's
download function.

BJ,

1) In IE > Tools > Internet Options > Security, is your security level set
to 'Default Level'?

2) Are you using the Automatic Updates' feature? If it's turned off in
'System Properties', did you also disable 'Automatic Updates' in the Windows
Services? This must stay on 'Automatic' to receive updates from the Windows
Updates site even though it's turned off in System Properties.

To double check this:

Step 1
* navigate to: Control Panel > System > Automatic Updates
* select 'Turn off Automatic Updates', click OK

Step 2

* open Windows 'Services', double-click 'Automatic Updates'
* select 'Automatic', select 'Start', click 'Apply & OK'
