When I boot up computer, I am able to open the Business Contact Manager
folder. If I click on another folder and the click back on Business Contact
Manager folder, I get the following error massage: Unable to display the
folder. Can't find this file. Make sure the path and file name are correct.

I have tried detect and repair but it has not resolved issue? Any
suggestions.

Running Windows XP Pro and Office 2003 Pro with Business Contact Manager.

Thanks

new profile in Outlook

Removing the BCM data base from the data file mamagement window does not
remove the BCM data from your computer if removes the association of BCM
with the Outlook profile

Go to file > data file management > add > select Business contact manager >
select the option to create a new data base

Raul,

Did that and I lost my entire contact address book. Had to use Norton
GoBack to recover. What do I need to do next.

Thanks

Ohhhhhhhhhhh
Like i stated earlier no data will be lost if you remove BCM from the data
file management window, since you were in a new database you might not find
any of your previous info that is what is supposed to happen we can also
assocaite BCM with the old data base and restore your old data.I understand
that if it difficult to when you do that same for the first time. And i guess
uisng norton go back would be like creating a system restore so we are back
to square one .

I removed BCM and lost data. What steps do I need to take to resolve this
problem and not lose data. I can open BCM folder if I close Outlook and
reopen. this is a pain. What would be causing the path not to be found when
I click on another folder? I appreciate your help in trying to resovle this
issue.

Hi

This is what you will have to do to recover the old data

Go to file > data file managemt > you will have an entry for the new BCM
data base remove this entry

then go to the same window click on add and BCM,selcet the option which says
use an existing data base. You should find the old data base listed in there
so go ahead and select the same. This should restore your BCM data.Once you
have the data avaliable you can export the data out using the export wizard
under BCM as a .bcm file.(Do note if you are running BCM V1 then history
will not get backed up so upgrading to BCM v2 should help).Once ur done
backing up the data remove the BCM database from the data file management
window and associate it with the new one. Then import the BCM file that you
have backed into the same

Do note the message that you stated which says the path cannot be found only
happen if outlook cannot find the pst file it uses and not becasue of bcm
coz u did state that it happen on another folder when you close and open
outlook .Also BCM has only one set of folders so this might be the reason
why the whole confusion began. If you find this complicated you can also
contact Support coz if you find it difficult to comprehend (800-936-5700)
that is the number.Thanks
