Unable to Delete Folders

Somwhow new folders were created on my hard drive. they
are empty but contain many subfolders, going on for 20 or
30 levels. some of the folders don't have names and others
have strange names. I cannot delete these folders. Is ther
a way to overcome this?

The problem is that the top folders do not have a name,
they are blank or simply a space.
