Unable to delete all temp internet files

B

Beth

Greetings
I am using Winxp pro, using msie 6, 128 cipher, have 1
gig ram, 2.4 Intel 4 cpu, have more then enough hard
drive space, have all the hotfixs for MSIE and windows,
ran virus scan with updated files, and have a most
annoying problem.

When I try to delete all the temp internet files in MSIE
6, go to Tools>internet options>settings>view files> it
brings up the window call C:\Documents and
Settings\user\local settings\temporary internet files, I
then go to Edit>Select all then File>Delete or use the
Delete button on the keyboard. When I do this (and I know
it seems to be a long dragged out way to do it, old
win98se hold over)it asks me if I want to delete all the
cookies, I select "ok" then deletes several files, and
the resot of the files stay.

These files include gifs from several places,
Microsoft.com being one, and several others. If I
individually select one item to delete, I get the
traditional "bong" and then nothing else, no error, no
msg window nada,zippo,zilch,mil,zero.

It would appear that I am unable to delete these 144
files, any suggestions ?

Thanks

Create a new location for your temp files after you have created a new
restore point. After the first location is removed, then create a new
location again, but in the original location.

Btw, you did not describe the files. Could you have installed
necessary files in this folder?
