unable to delete a file

I am unable to delete an MP3 file; right-clicking does
not show the 'delete' or 'rename' commands, just play
(but it won't play in any program either), etc. Using
Norton Clean Sweep, trying to delete it here produces the
error message 'path not found'; I also cannot delete the
folder containing the MP3; the file is not there but the
text remains and will not delete. Drag-&-drop only
leaves the file untouched. How can I delete the 'name'
of this file from my computer, or the entire folder that
contains it?

I had a similar problem some time ago. Turned out it was
a virus file. Mcafee had a fix - it was a long time ago
so can't remember. the other way is to go into the dos
prompt and delete it from there using the dos command.
