Unable to connect

We are running TS on Win2k. Previously everything worked fine; however,
recently we began having connection issues locally and remotely connecting to
the terminal server using terminal services (Win2k Pro, RDP, etc).

The error message reads:

"The system can not log you on due to the following error: The network
request is not supported. Please try again or consult your system
administrator."

After a reboot or stopping and starting the "Net Logon" service everything
works for about a day and then the vicious cycle repeats. In the license
manager licenses appear to be allocated properly, though initially I must
manually connect to the license server, which is the same server, to view the
license distribution.

Please comment and advise.

There has recently been an outburst of a new variant of a trojan /
worm. Search for "network request is not supported" and you'll find
quite a lot of similar posts, all from around the 1st of June.

It's a new variant, so it was initially not recognized by a number
of anti-virus products. However, it exploits old and well-known
vulnerabilities, which have been fixed long ago, if you have
applied all security updates.

So run Windows update, apply all security patches, update your
anti-virus software, run a full system scan.
